Welcome to Clifford Ismay's 'Ismay Family website'

You will find information here about the lives of people who made the WHITE STAR LINE the great shipping company that it was. You can learn about the lives of Thomas Henry Ismay, J Bruce Ismay and others. A detailed account of the Titanic's maiden voyage is included. You can also read letters not previously published on any other website, some of which undoubtedly resulted in the formation of the successful White star line.

But it does not stop there, this site looks at the times before and after the days of the White Star Line, and is unique because the information here has been mostly compiled by the Ismay Family!

Thomas Henry Ismay was best known for the White Star Line, and of course the Titanic. Thomas's business interests did not stop there, he also owned several insurance companies and had interests in the G.E.C. (General Electric Company), he also had financial interests in the rail network.

We have traced our family line back to 1669

My family's connection with Thomas Henry and J Bruce Ismay

Thomas Henry Ismay's great, great grandfather and my great, great, great, great, grandfather were brothers. It is thought that our branch of the Ismay family is the closest connection to T H Ismay, who still carry the Ismay surname.
