Titanic A Service of Remembrance ~ Review
Titanic Heritage Trust was host to Titanic A Service of Remembrance at Coventry Cathedral, on Saturday April 28th 2007

There was a warm welcome from the Lord Mayor of Coventry Councillor Shabbir Ahmed on behalf of the City of Coventry.

The service was lead by Canon Adrian Daffern, there were readings by George Connor OBE on behalf of the Engineers, by Philip Littlejohn on behalf of his grandfather, Philip also read a message from Millvina Dean.

David Haisman on behalf of his Mother Edith Haisman and Dorothy Kendle read an extract from "Titanic voices" on behalf of Millvina Dean. Mollie Conroy-Hargreaves spoke on behalf of the Children and Mrs Kathleen Shaw read a poem written by her grandaughter Lauren Baker-Knight.

We wre pleased to welcome Mr Clifford Ismay, greate nephew of J Bruce Ismay who read a letter written by Edith Russell on behalf o0f the Ismay family.

We were also pleased to welcome Mr Douglas Woolley, who attended on behalf of the Shannon Ulster Titanic Society, UK Titanic Society and Seawise Titanic Society.
And our special guests from the Titanic Museum Germany, Andreas Pfeffer and Ullrich Griese, thank you both for making the journey to come to our service.

Tributes were paid to the bandsmen by Michael Hargreaves followed by a minutes silence, then "Nearer My God To Thee" was played by solo violinist Karho Wong, followed by the choir singing during the wreath laying by the Lord Mayor, Titanic Heritage Trust, the Institute of Marine Engineers,Ernest Allen and the Ismay family.

Especially remembered those who's lives werer touched by Titanic and have been lost to us in recent times.
