| The End of the White Star Line
At the end of 1930, work had started at the Clydebank yard of John Brown & Co., of an 80,000grt passenger liner for the Cunard Line. The Depression led to work being halted a year later.
By the end of the year White Star Line’s finances were in such a precarious position that their only chance of survival was in the hands of the British Government. |
